Holly
Owner/Educator/Barber Stylist
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Holly is a Red Seal Barber with 14 years in the industry. Holly's remarkable talent and commitment in the hair industry has led her to become a Barber Instructor at Blanche Macdonald since 2021, and recently proud owner of UBS Cambie Barbershop. She splits her time between the barbershop and the school, where she enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge about hair; through education and mentorship to other aspiring barber stylists alike. In her limited free time, a few sports interests she enjoys playing are; ultimate frisbee, fencing, squash, and dodgeball. Holly has travelled the world, from Europe, North and South America, to South East Asia and more. One of her memorable travel highlights is when she rode on camels and camped out in the Sahara Desert.
Barbara (Babs)
Senior Barber Stylist
Barbara (goes by Babs) graduated from JOJI'S Hair Academy in 2006. Babs is Vidal Sassoon precision trained and has well over a decade of experience behind the chair in barbershops and hair salons. Babs has recently re-entered the barbering world as of last year with a passion to perfect her craft in barbering. She loves re-creating alternative retro styles, with modern technicalities combined with intuitive free flow cutting. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing; making little stop motions, and spending time with her two black cats (Chucky and Molly).
Richard
Senior Barber
Through study and practice, Richard cultivates his barbering skills through certified courses and guidance from seasoned professionals. His passion for precision has deepened his understanding of both the theory and practice of scissor work, allowing him to fulfill his clients’ hair desires effectively. Beyond serving his clientele, Richard shares his barbering knowledge with peers, through demonstration of fundamental techniques to achieve high-quality haircuts. Apart from his dedication to barbering, he finds joy in self-improvement, computer games, and working on his "Pastion" project.
Emily
Junior Barber Stylist
Motivated by drive and perseverance Emily graduated from Level 1 Hairdressing in 2023 and from Blanche Macdonald barbering in 2024. Holly has mentored Emily through her schooling and career, focusing on attention to detail and accuracy. Her focus is understanding clients wants and needs by bringing ideas to life with dedication and consistency. Outside the barbershop Emily enjoys teaching skating, playing ringette, snowboarding, and relaxing with her Portuguese water dog named JJ.
